Simon competed as a cyclist in the Olympic Games in Seoul 1988 & Barcelona 1992.
He has held several senior management positions in the sporting and events industries including leading the delivery of all cycling events in the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Simon built the London 2012 cycling team from its beginning, developing a vision that a whole team could unite to achieve the best results. Events were delivered across a total of 7 venues with a team of over 2000 staff, contractors and volunteers. The UCI President acknowledged the success of this approach by stating that “The London Games were definitely the best of modern times and cycling was definitely one of the highlights of those Games. You can be proud.”
Previously, Simon led British Cycling Marketing, Communications & Commercial activity and has also worked overseas as European Marketing and Sports Marketing Manager for California based Bell Sports / Giro.
Since 2012, Simon has been Director of Fortitude Sports Consulting sharing his unparalleled experience of sport and complex sporting projects.
