Richard founded leading European digital media advisory firm Seven League. Their mission is to transform the connection between sports, sponsors and audiences by accelerating sports’ digital performance and driving reach, fan engagement and revenue.
Originally a BBC journalist who turned geek and launched BBC News online, he has spent most of his career in media and has only worked in sport since he became Manchester City’s first Head of Digital in 2011. In November 2011, Richard was named “Individual of the Year” at UK industry awards the DADIs for his work as Head of Digital at Man City and in May 2012 the Club’s digital service beat The Guardian and TalkSport to win the Sports Industry Awards ‘Sport Website of the Year’.
