Terry Stevens has worked on strategic sports projects and destination development in over 40 countries around the world. His clients include: the UN World Tourism Organisation, the UNDP, the European Bank of Reconstruction and IDI, as well as blue chip private sector companies such as Coca Cola, Welsh Rugby Union, Millennium Stadium and Philips.
Terry was a Member and Vice Chair of the Wales Tourist Board, is a Fellow of the American Leisure Academy and is a member of the European Institute for Venue Management’s delivery team. He is a recognised specialist in sport tourism and the economic impact of sports and major events, undertaking numerous studies on the contribution of sport to tourism and economic regeneration.
Terry was also part of an international team developing the concept of Olympic Spirit, a celebration of the Olympic Games, on behalf of International Development Olympic Spirit, a licensed company of the International Olympic Committee. He is a regular speaker at international conferences on sport and tourism, such as SportAccord and in June 2014, Terry was the keynote speaker at the UNWTO global summit for Ministers of Tourism on sports tourism held in Sochi. He is currently Visiting Professor at the Dundee Business School and Honorary Professor at the Universities of Swansea and Cardiff Metropolitan
