Joe Rafferty


Joe is a sports marketing and event professional with over 12 years’ experience working across every facet of the sports industry. Joe began his career with Nike in Ireland, before moving to adidas to head up the brand’s sports marketing activities for running across the UK & Ireland. This included the signing and activation of assets including The London Marathon, UK Athletics, Mo Farah, Christine Ohurougu and Jessica Ennis-Hill.

In 2007 Joe joined the Irish revolution at Sunderland AFC in the English Premier League where, as Marketing Manager, he drove the club’s marketing, communications and sponsorship strategies, which included the introduction of a CRM system, brand guidelines and international sponsorship strategy. After leaving Sunderland and prior to joining IMG, Joe was Commercial Director for Inmotion Sport, a London based boutique sports marketing and events agency where clients included Nike, Clarks, Aviva, Ernst & Young and K-Swiss. Since joining IMG, Joe has delivered a number of high profile projects including the Abu Dhabi International Triathlon and the EMEA roll out of The Color Run, the world’s biggest event series.
