Conor McNamara is a Sport Commentator for the BBC.

From FIFA World Cups & 6 Nations Rugby to Ryder Cup Golf & Olympic Boxing, Conor has been attending the World’s greatest sporting events for the BBC for the past 15 years.

Conor is familiar voice on BBC’s Match of The Day and BBC Radio 5 Live.

In 2014, Conor was nominated for the Football Supporters Federation “Commentator Of The Year” award.

Born in Limerick, Conor is a Munster fan, he played rugby for Crescent College Comprehensive and Old Crescent in his schooldays.

As a football commentator he has covered 4 FIFA World Cups, 3 European Championships, UEFA Champions League and The Premier League.

As a rugby commentator, he has commentated for BBC TV & Radio on Rugby World Cups, The 6 Nations Championship, European Rugby Champions Cup (formerly Heineken Cup) and English Premiership Rugby.

As a golf commentator, Conor commentates on-course at The Open Championship and The Ryder Cup, as well as tournaments in the USA such as The PGA Championship.

For Rio 2016, Conor will be travelling to Brazil as part of the BBC Sport Team to commentate on Boxing at the Olympics.
