European Sport Tourism Awards Ceremony

Thursday 14 May 2015 –  King Johns Castle, Limerick

The Shannon Group European Sport Tourism Awards is a exciting opportunity to highlight and celebrate successful sport tourism destinations, events, venues and innovation.  Awards will be presented at a sport themed ceremony in King Johns Castle on Thursday evening 14 May 2015. This follows the Shannon Airport European Sport Tourism Summit being hosted in Thomond Park Stadium on Thursday 14 May.

MC: Dave McIntyre – Newstalk ‘Off the Ball’, TV3, Setanta Sports and Sky Sports commentator

Venue: King John’s Castle is situated on ‘King’s Island’ in the heart of medieval Limerick City. The Castle overlooks the majestic River Shannon. It was built between 1200 and 1210 and was repaired and extended many times in the following centuries. The courtyard and the Castle display some of the trades and traditions of the 16th Century. The Castle offers panoramic views of Limerick City and the surrounding countryside. The sights, scenes and sounds of the Castle and its environs all combine to recreate the atmosphere of the era.
